Song Details

The beloved Lana Del Rey worked with the rising "The Weeknd" for the title song of her 2017 Album "Lust for Life". The album was first announced late March 2017 and the lyrics of the flagsong of the album was made public shortly thereafter.

The official teaser for the album was released on March29th 2017 on Lana's Vevo channel. The fans of Lana have shown great interest in the teaser. One of the comments mentioned that Selena Gomez might get jealous over The Weeknd's cooperation with Del Ray and the comment was liked a lot.

The official audio clip for the song was uploaded on Lana's channel on 19th April, 2017. Even though it was announced as an audio clip, it contained much more than a background image. A couple sitting on the top of the H of Hollywood sign was depicted with animation in the audio clip befitting to the song's lyrics. The images used in the audio clip was black and white but the girl sitting on H was wearing a red dress, capturing the attention of the viewers. Another image in the audio clip was a view of Los Angeles with Hollywood sign at night, with a surrealistically large moon. Lastly Lana Del Rey is depicted holding the sign in her hand watching over Los Angeles.

"The Weeknd" joins Lana Del Rey except for the the first verse of the song adding up color to the music. Lana Del Rey starts singing alone but just a few lines later she's not alone in the song.

The lyrics of Lust for life by Lana Del Rey and "The Weeknd" seems long at first glance. However the song has a long chorus and the chorus is repetitive in itself. The song has two short verses a long chorus, two refrains and a bridge. The chorus is divided into two as prechorus and the main chorus. The main chorus is repeated twice in the song.
